Mooring Engineering

Anchoring Calculation Memory is an engineering tool through which a mooring system is designed for a naval installation, whether it is a module of cages for fish farming, a feeding pontoon, a storage barge, or longlines for mussel cultivation.

Anchoring Calculation Memory is used to determine the environmental forces exerted on a naval installation under adverse weather conditions. The environmental forces include: tidal current, wave and wind parameters that ultimately define the materials used in the anchoring system, such as: ropes, cables, chains, fasteners and anchoring elements.

The analysis of mechanical stresses exerted by environmental factors acting on different elements of a naval installation can be limitless. This is so because the magnitude and direction of each vector will vary for each geographic location, time period, and type of floating structure. For the design of the mooring system, it is necessary to determine the magnitudes of these vectors and the directions of the extreme stress conditions.

Control and maintenance of Vessels

Designed to centralize all information of a vessel, in terms of documentation and maintenances records, both by those on board, as well as external contractors.

The main page contains:

    • Equipment associated with the system and maintenance performed.
  • The summary of each piece of equipment contains:
    • General information of each piece of equipment with picture.
    • Maintenance performed.
    • All associated systems.
  • The summary of each contractor contains:
    • Contractor's general information.
    • Maintenance performed.
    • Certificates issued.

Online platform SID

It is designed to centralize all the information of the farming center, in terms of documentation and registration of failures found during field inspections.

The main page contains:

  • An interactive map showing the location of individual farming centers.
  • A summary table with the latest data entered for easy access to it.
  • Options to create various reports, by date ranges, centers, or both.

The summary of each center contains:

  • A page with the center's general information.
  • A general outline of the center.
  • All environmental documentation, legal, studies and others, for downloading.
  • The dates of the last inspection.

The summary of each inspection contains:

  • A general report in a downloadable PDF format
  • A general summary on the screen.
  • A current state diagram of the center.
  • A report of each inspection naval craft or installation.
  • The respective photographic records and a list of the various faults found.

The system also allows for creating reports by farming center, machine, supplier, and inspections by date ranges or a combination of two or more of the afore mentioned variables.

All this allows a clear view of what is happening in each farming center, with respect to its documentation and infrastructure.

Cartography

Differential positioning method is carried out using DGPS (Differential GPS) making certain that the position obtained has a margin of error of only a few centimeters, that is due to the use of highly accurate atomic clocks in the satellites, which considerably reduce the margin of error. The margin of error using a Navigation GPS will always be greater.

This technology is used for example to make concessions georeferencing, farm site surveying georeferencing, and other work requiring precise accuracy.

These devices are widely used in geodetic, hydrographic and topographic studies in order to optimize precision and work times. Jobs like surveying, precision bathymetry and linking geodetic vertices to the national geodetic network, requires the use of DGPS technology. By using the vertices of this network, run by organizations such as the Shoah (Navy of Chile) and IGM (Army of Chile) one can obtain reliable results anywhere in the country.
